AI4Work Agriculture Pilot Presented at Innovation Day in Portugal

AI4Work partners Quinta do Crasto (QDC) and the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) participated in Innovation Day at ERT Innovation, a UTAD partner company located in São João da Madeira, Portugal. The event brought together several European initiatives and provided an opportunity to showcase and discuss the latest developments from the AI4work Agriculture PIlot. Key results were presents in the areas of:

  • Ampelographic identification of grapevines using images captured in situ, by drones and through hybrid approaches (Use Case UC-1)

  • Monitoring of soil conditions in vineyards within the studied terroirs (VMT and VP) (Use Case UC-2)

  • An experimental prototype of a 3D model designed to support vineyard harvesting operations, planned for use in the upcoming season

This event marked an important step in demonstrating how AI-based digital twin solutions can contribute to more sustainable and efficient agricultural practices, while improving working conditions in the sector

5th General Meeting

The 5th General Meeting of AI4Work was held  in Brussels, Belgium, on 12–13 November 2025, bringing consortium partners together for two highly productive days of collaboration and progress review. The meeting featured updates across all work packages, including ethics and legal considerations, methodological advances for implementing human-centred AI/robotics working conditions, and the latest developments in human-aware task planning, runtime monitoring, long-term adaptation and explainable what-if tools. Partners also discussed the status of the Digital Twin Service Platform and key building blocks supporting context awareness and Sliding Work Sharing, as the project moves toward the full prototype stage. Dedicated sessions focused on the progress of all pilot implementations and evaluation activities, alongside planning for training materials, dissemination actions, and long-term exploi tation efforts to maximise AI4Work’s impact and sustainability.

AI4Work Research on AI-Supported Stress Management at PRO-VE 2025

AI4Work contributed to the 26th IFIP/SOCOLNET Working Conference on Virtual Enterprises (PRO-VE 2025), held in Porto, Portugal, with the presentation of the paper “A Recommendation System for Stress Management at the Workplace Using RAG-based LLM.” The research explores how AI can support occupational doctors in promoting employee wellbeing and managing stress in demanding healthcare environments, where high workloads and constant responsibility increase the risk of burnout. The presented system leverages Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Large Language Models to provide evidence-based stress management recommendations. It integrates biometric signals from wearable devices, psychological self-assessments, and a curated library of stress management resources, enabling effective support while respecting clinical workflows. This contribution reflects AI4Work’s Sliding Work Sharing vision, where AI acts as a collaborative assistant that enhances human expertise rather than replacing it. The work was authored by Panagiotis Mavrogiannis, Christos Panagopoulos, Andreas Menychtas, Paris Gallos, and Ilias Maglogiannis. AI4Work Special Session on Sliding Work Sharing at PRO-VE 2025

During the PRO-VE 2025 Conference (27–29 October 2025, Porto, Portugal), AI4Work, in collaboration with the SOPRANO project (GA. 101120990), co-supported the organisation of a dedicated special session focused on next-generation human–AI and human–robot collaboration. Chaired by Sebastian Scholze, the session entitled “AI-driven Sliding Work Sharing for Human-Robot / Human-AI Collaboration” brought together research contributions exploring adaptive work sharing approaches in complex workplace environments. The session featured three papers, including two key AI4Work investigation contributions:

  • ATB-led work: “Context Aware Sliding Work Sharing for Human-AI Collaboration in Logistics Domain”

  • UPRC-led work: “A Recommendation System for Stress Management at the Workplace Using RAG-based LLM”

This session highlighted AI4Work’s ongoing efforts to advance human-centred AI systems that support cooperation, wellbeing, and flexibility across multiple domains.
